DIY: Scarf Skirt

Scarves, believe it or not, are useful for more than just warmth. Here I have made a scarf I have into a simple cute skirt. The tutorial below will give you step by step pictures to show how I did it.

#1: Showing my scarf. Mine is a jersey material so it slightly stretches which is important. The fabric needs to be stretchy in order to make the skirt tight enough so it won’t fall off.

#2: Tuck one end into the top of your tights (or underwear).

#3-4: Then begin wrapping yourself into the scarf leaving enough leftover fabric for step 5

#5: Twist the fabric twice to make a  twist in the front

#6: Then take the leftover fabric and finish wrapping it around yourself. Depending on how long the scarf is you may be able to tie the ends together. But if not just tuck the end into your tights or use a safety pin to secure the end.

If you have any questions just ask!

  1. What is the length required for the scarf?

    1. It’s hard to give an exact length. But you want to be able to wrap the scarf around yourself at least 2.5 – 3 times.

  2. Cute!
